DIGITAL TERRAIN MODEL
Executive Summary
A digital terrain model represents the bare ground surface without any objects like buildings and vegetation. The Danish national agency SDFI provides users with mapping and geodata products such as the national digital terrain model (or elevation model). For more info please check:
With our Eagle Scanner X1 more detailed and actual height information may be obtained from the point cloud data acquired from UAVs surveying the area of interest. In the top left figure, the Digital Surface Model of the area is presented. The terrain, as well as low and higher vegetation, are visible. After classifying the model into ground and non-ground, the Digital Terrain Model can be exported for future data processing, as shown in the left lower image.
